A Word from the Festival Director

Set against the natural landscape of your neighbourhood park, Dusk Dances takes you from the highly physical, to the gently magical, and the charmingly fun. Your journey is accompanied by a host who leads you to selected dance pieces located in different areas throughout the park. Featuring some of Canada’s most innovative dancers and choreographers, and now in its 17th season, Dusk Dances continues to be a delight for audiences of all ages.”

Sylvie Bouchard, Festival Director

RAIN CANCELLATION POLICY

Dusk Dances rarely cancels a show in advance of the start time due to poor weather. All of our artists and volunteers are present at the park (even if it's pouring), and should the clouds part, the sun start to shine, and it's safe to perform, they are ready to go. An announcement is generally made at the park between 7pm and 7:30pm if the show has been cancelled.

A good rule of thumb to assess whether or not to attend a Dusk Dances performance when the weather looks bad: if it's raining where you are when you need to leave to come to the park, perhaps think about coming on a different night.

Catch-up Performances/Rain Matinees:
If Dusk Dances loses two or more performances to rain in one week, we will endeavour to have a catch-up performance on the Sunday of that week at 2pm, weather permitting. This performance would be in addition to the scheduled Sunday 7pm performance. If a catch-up performance looks likely, we will leave a message to this effect on the info-line 416.504.6429 x41, and we will also post an announcement about it on your park's web page.
