Remington North

Technical Director

 

Remington North is a career Technical Director and Production Manager. He derives his professional mandate from the word facilitate via the Latin facile (easily). Making art is hard and Remington endeavours to make it easier, in some measure, for those working through their craft. Remington has worked with J-Mar Electric, Canadian Stage, Crow's Theatre, The Theatre Centre, Soulpepper, Volcano Theatre, YES! Theatre, Why Not Theatre, Against the Grain, and many other companies in the GTA.

 

 

 

 

Annasofie 诗慧 Jakobsen

Production and Stage Manager

 

Annasofie is thrilled to be here at Withrow Park with this being her first year with Dusk Dances! She's primarily a production and stage manager based in Toronto, working with on various projects since graduating from theatre school a few years ago. When not sending out schedules, she can be found having a second coffee of the day and yapping with her friends! Much love and appreciation to the Dusk Dances team, especially her partner in crime, Bella!

 

 

 

Bella Szpala

Assistant Stage Manager

 

Bella Szpala (she/her) is an emerging theatre artists who loves managing stages (and also parks). She is so excited to be working in Withrow with Dusk Dances this summer! A recent graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance: Production program, Bella has worked as a stage manager on shows with TMU, Toronto Fringe, Paprika Festival, and other indie ventures. When not managing various performance venues Bella can be found getting upset about sports, on long walks, or cutting up fruit for Annasofie to make fritters with. She hopes you have a beautiful time in the park with us!

 

 

 

 

 

Emerson Kafarowski

Lighting Designer

 

Emerson Kafarowski (she/they) is a Lighting Designer and Multidisciplinary Artist based in Tkaronto, Canada. A graduate of the Toronto Metropolitan University Performance Production + Design program, they’ve worked on projects and performances in dance, theatre, opera, and live music. Dedicated to life-long learning, Emerson gravitates towards projects that explore the intricacies of different human experiences, in which voices of the past and present are uplifted. In addition to Lighting Design, Emerson is a skilled ETC Lighting Programmer, as well as a Technical Director and Touring Production Manager, travelling across Canada, the U.S.A, and Europe. Emerson is thrilled to be back for her third season with Dusk Dances!

 

 

 

 

 

Anisha Manyal

Volunteer Coordinator

 

Anisha is a Bharatnatyam dancer with over 16 years of training and a diploma from Kalaimanram Academy of Fine Arts & Yoga. Her repertoire includes Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Garba, Bhangra, Kolatam, contemporary, hip hop, and jazz. Anisha's leadership spans overseeing financial procedures, ensuring compliance with protocols, and fostering positive relationships with individuals and organizations to enhance programming and address equity issues. Currently, Anisha is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at York University and collaborating with dance companies within the GTA. Her blend of artistic experience and community-focused leadership enriches her role in coordinating volunteers, ensuring a dynamic and inclusive experience at the festival.

 

 

 

Zuri Skeete

Assistant Volunteer Coordinator

 

Zuri Skeete (she/her) is a queer emerging multidisciplinary dance artist within the Toronto community. Zuri is a recent graduate from York University’s Choreography/Performance Specialized Honours BFA in Dance. She is a performer, choreographer, and teacher with a heavy focus on improvisation and contemporary dance.
