Dusk Dances is thrilled to announce Dusk Dances - Park It!, a special pilot initiative designed to make our festival more accessible and welcoming than ever before. This unique evening on August 8th (with a rain date of August 9th) aims to better serve audiences using mobility devices, elders, and members of the Deaf and Disabled communities.
Expanding on our mission "to make dance accessible to communities," Dusk Dances - Park It! offers a relaxed performance where all four captivating dance pieces will be presented at a single, stationary site in Withrow Park. This means no travelling from location to location within the park – simply find your spot and enjoy the entire show!
This inclusive evening was developed in consultation with our friends at the Disability Collective. You'll experience the exact same incredible programming featured on all other Dusk Dances evenings, beginning with our popular dabke workshop at the usual site. Afterward, we'll make one easy transition to the hill between the two large trees, where the full performance will unfold.
To further enhance the experience, the entire evening will include ASL translation provided by Gaetrie Persaud-Killings and her talented team from Phoenix the Fire. We'll also have dedicated Access Volunteers on hand to assist anyone using mobility devices.
The show will maintain its regular start and end times, ensuring a consistent schedule for all attendees.
Please RSVP for Dusk Dances - Park It via the form below to help us ensure a comfortable and accessible experience for everyone. We can't wait to welcome you!
